Lotus Petal House Custom spec home
The effort of this academic project was to design a live/ work environment on a specific site located in Vista, Ca. Architecture is about creating an experience, an expressive blending of elements to inspire feelings. When I began this project I imagined a space that had an overarching theme that would be as prevalent on the interior as on the exterior. This theme would contain the confidence of contemporary architecture and the creativity of abstract art. My first thoughts were about the organic nature of design; simple, non-linear forms echoing the contours of the countryside, but none more powerful than the Zen-like experience of a lotus flower.

Katzenmeyer Residence Patio Plan
This tuscan inspired outdoor living space was designed as an extension of the indoor area. There are a variety of seating and entertaining areas which enhance the connection between outdoor and indoor living.
The stepped patio cover above and stepped concrete walkways below gently articulate the separation of spaces, while maintaining good circulation.

Flynn Residence Custom Home
This custom home embodies the vertical emphasis of the dense trees surrounding the home. The central massing mimics this feature, reaching upward towards the treetops.
The placement of the home was critical to minimizing alterations or impact to the land.
Deep overhangs and delicate orientation encourage the owner to use mechanical heating and cooling less often, ultimately minimizing the carbon footprint over the life of the home.

Foster Residence Large scale remodel
This large scale remodel included a complete gut of the existing interior and an exterior facelift.
On the inside the kitchen and all the bathrooms were redesigned and modernized. The design of each space was approached differently and given a unique style and mood.
On the outside the landscape was refined and walkways and driveways were replaced. The house was painted and patio covers and trim were replaced to accent and compliment the new aesthetic.

Borchert Residence 2nd story addition
This custom second story addition was a unique opportunity to drastically change the curb appeal of a home begging for some TLC. Now with vaulted ceilings and two-story living spaces this home opens up to the eye as soon as you walk thru the front door.
The home grew 1,000 for a total square footage of 2,400 when construction completed.

Howe Residence Custom Home
This custom home is a distinctive blend of tudor and country, offering a beautiful melding of two opposing styles. The home has 4 comfortable bedrooms and 4 bathrooms with 2 half bathrooms, for a total of 6,250 square feet and 1,730 square feet of covered patio with a spacious 3 car garage.
Mendez-Bailey Residence Custom Home
This custom home sits high in the hills of Poway and was designed to capture the expansive panoramic view. The home has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, with a flexible space for a potential office or 5th bedroom. The square footage is 3,202 with a spacious 3 car garage.

This custom home was design/ built as an infill project in an existing development. The goal was to achieve harmony with the surrounding architectural styles, while offering the amenities and trends of modern design. The home has 4 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, with a flexible space that could be a dining room, office, or 5th bedroom. The square footage is 3,302 with a large 2 car garage including golf cart parking.
Kitchen Design Custom Home
This kitchen was designed as a remodel to replace the existing galley kitchen and reorganize space to open up the floor plan to the living and dining room.
